DIY Live Edge Slab Coffee Table | Modern Builds | EP. 24
Remodel your bathroom easily and quick!
Today on Modern Builds I'm building my first ever live edge walnut slab coffee table. The table top is made from two book-matched slabs and the legs are made from a third slab all from the same tree. I squared off all of the corners to give what would've been a much more rustic piece a modern edge.

Nice build. I’m in process of making a bigger one myself and looking for leg attachment ideas. My question is considering you have cross grain attachment, are you worried about wood movement on either the top or legs? The top could crack or the legs could, or both considering neither has room to expand? Would you change design next time? Thanks!
Thanks for the reply and insight. I’ll keep on watching. Thanks!
Well, so far everything has gone well, but yeah, it could be an issue. If i did it again, I wouldn’t have inset the legs, just a typical mortise and tenon with super thick dowels
OH MY Goodness!!!!
nice workbench/kitchen table haha. maybe a good future project?
Thanks for sharing, can you make something out of elm wood?
nice technique ,i also used that before . gotta love the human brain ,if i don’t have a tool ,to do something. i think about it until i figure a way out .nice build
Exactly!! Thanks a lot!
What kind of epoxy did you use?

small dog house ?
Great job. Looks awesome. Like how you do the work without a jointer and a planer, which everyone doesn’t have.
I know right! Thanks a lot man
The Best
Another great video! However I had a question. Would it be possible to use the router technique you showed in another video to create the smooth flat surface vs. using the hand planar and sander method you showed here?
Definitely. These slabs were pretty flat, so it was faster to do it this way on this project.
Can you please let me know what the music is? where it is from? Thanks Awesome work by the way
